I’m not rating the food, though there were several options. I found it relaxing to float all day, we had a really good time. Only half the river was open due to post-season staffing cuts but they have showers and changing rooms. There was plenty of seating, all the tables had umbrellas but we managed to find a shady spot near the main entrance. They have lockers in 3 sizes but that’s an additional expense, $12 to $20 dollars. Everyone leaves their stuff at the tables and we didn’t have a problem, though I would leave any valuables at home. Also, there’s a $7 charge to bring in a cooler with ice – we brought our own food and drinks. I saw some people had liquor – not sure if they brought it in or purchased it there.
I will say it seemed a bit pricey but there was adequate staff, the restrooms and tables were clean. One last suggestion: put your little ones in life vests – I had to witness a man fall off a tandem inner tube, try to get back on while holding his kid. Naturally they both went under a little further down the “rapids”; cue upset, half-drowned kid. It’s not super deep but kids can’t touch bottom.

We went in June last month the slides were cool, but I’m very concerned about how fun down some areas look, they need to really update it for safety reasons. My only issue was that the lazy river was closed off halfway, few other rides weren’t open and we had to pay for a full price… kinda misleading when your charging for full price and not much is opened/was opened. We would probably go back if everything was open correctly. The staff were very kind and very helpful with my questions and the lifeguards were awesome

I really enjoyed my time on the Dolphin Watch Cruise – we got drinks, interesting information about the island and sea-life, and views that were breathtaking.

We ended up going on the sunset cruise and it was absolutely amazing! I definitely want to come back soon to take another cruise.

Perfect dolphin cruise at sunset where we saw 6 dolphins close-up several different times! Nice, double-decker boat large enough for those who get seasick, well-stocked bar with some snacks for purchase. Great cruise for families with kids as well as those looking for a fun start to the night. My toddler loved the upbeat music too! We will be back!

Went on a really fun Eco / Dolphin observation cruise here. We were able to follow a pod of bottlenose dolphins out through the jetty! On a side note, the margaritas are superb, Felicia is a great bartender! Was definitely a highlight of our trip to South Padre!

Really liked the location. Pier seems to be well taken care of. Lots of different fish caught when I went. Thought price was a little high but it is what it is. Bait available at location. Also have food at location. Would go back.

This place has really cleaned up, it used to be packed with RVs, currently there are many open spaces, several RV’s with no one on site but RV is connected. You can stay here up to 6 months. Grass sticker burrs are a real pain and a hazard, the entires grass area is covered with them so there is no walking around without shoes. Be cautious with your fur buddies.

The construction is finished we had been here in Dec of 2018 and the entire area was under construction, but the walkway along the boardwalk is beautiful. You can walk around the entire park and get 1.5 miles on your step tracker 🙂

Check in lady was wonderful.
Captain and first mate were nice and chatty. They both where helpful and willing to let us sit in the “wheel house”
The bay was kinda bumpy but that made it even better!
Got to see a bunch of dolphins.
We went into the bay and felt a lot safer then if we went out into the gulf.
All the staff made the experience safe and enjoyable.

I would give it 4.5 star. The stuff is friendly, captain knowledgeable and will let you take a seat in the captain boat. On my tour when we found dolphins we actually stayed a little longer so that we could enjoy them. The boat is old but still comfy and spacious. You can purchase snacks and drinks. We enjoyed the sea life, that they cought so we were able to touch coral, sting rays, crabs and fish. They put it back in the water. 😉 The sunset dolphin cruise is probably the best. Sunset is beautiful.

Amazing Capt! We wanted to give our son and new wife a fishing experience during their honeymoon. I called Capt Fleming and worked out the details, he even set up wife the chef at a local restaurant to cook their catch. He made sure the fish cooperated as well. They caught more than enough and our son was happy to share the catch. I highly recommend this guide who obviously knows how to get a fish on.
Thanks so much and if I ever get back down there I will be sure to hire him!!!

Cap’n Cliff was great. Took mom and our two boys, age 9 and 11, on a little bay trip for the morning. Everyone caught more than enough fish, black drum, red snapper, mangrove snapper, etc. Mom won the prize for biggest fish and the most fish caught. Would definitely book again!

Technical/Mechanical issues couldn’t stop this electric captain and friendly crew from leading us through our best deep sea fish we’ve had here in Texas.

Best and most consistent fishing we’ve had, a group of 5 came away with almost 50 pounds of fish. Mostly red snapper, it would’ve been more except for the 2 fish limit per person!

I would recommend this trip to anyone who asks, and we will go again if we find ourselves in South Padre.

Looked very promising, even ate at the little restaurant right there. Booked a time 2-3 hours prior to trip. They told us there “might”be a chance they don’t head out because they need a minimum 8-12 people to leave. The lady assured us we should be good but if not we will call you to let you know 1 hour prior. And if we didn’t hear anything, we are good. We never heard anything and arrived 30 minutes prior as requested only to find out they forgot to call us and that we were the only people to book for the day. Because of that, it left us scrambling to find a new boat in a short time period. Very unfortunate, but luckily we found Osprey Cruises and it was perfect! Thanks you Breakaway!

We had a good time here as a quick historical stop. We brought our two boys and climbed to the top. I would definitely wear shoes and not sandals. You get a great views at the top, and we enjoyed the balcony level much more than the very top. The windows make the top very hot but the breeze from the water makes the balcony very enjoyable.

Short and sweet tour to take. The visitor center has some good information and a decent presentation. Tickets are reasonable, so it’s definitely worth your time to check it out. The climb is pretty steep especially the last two landings the last of which is a ladder. Other views from the top are nice, especially if the weather is clear.

I chose to celebrate my 60th birthday by taking a sunset cruise with Southern Wave Sailing Charters. The entire crew treated me like a VIP! The guitarist sang a special song for me so of course I danced. Any time one of the amazing food courses was ready, my fellow passengers called on me to serve myself first. All the food was fantastic, especially the grilled shrimp and the grilled fish with fresh peppers! I brought some cupcakes to share with everyone and the server kindly went around the boat and passed them out. We had beautiful weather, a stunningly gorgeous sunset, and friendly smiles and conversation all around. This was the absolute highlight of our entire trip and I highly recommend the Southern Wave sunset catamaran cruise!
