Laguna Vista’s Hidden Gems

Laguna Vista is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, situated on the shores of Lake Travis. It’s one of the oldest cities in South Texas and has plenty to offer- from history to water sports, shopping and outdoor concerts!

Corpus Christi

Laguna Vista is inside the city limits of Corpus Christi. This means that it’s easy to drive into town for shopping, dining, or just spending an afternoon at the museum! There are also plenty of things to do in Corpus Christi if you want a longer trip; there is horseback riding on the beach and tours of the USS Lexington, among other activities.

In the Corpus Christi area, there’s no better place to get wet and wild than at Schlitterbahn Waterpark! This is a huge resort, so you can stay for a whole day or just stop by for a few hours. There are several different areas in this park that allow visitors to ride waterslides and go swimming. There’s even a wave pool if you want to surf without going out in the ocean!

Texas State Aquarium

The Texas State Aquarium is a great place to take children and adults. It has many different types of animals, from dolphins to penguins and more! There are also different exhibits that allow people to get a closer look at these animals up close. Another fun part of the aquarium is the huge tank in the middle of the building. Visitors can watch as divers feed the fish and sharks within.

Texas State History Museum 

Right in downtown Corpus Christi, there’s lots to do at the Texas State History Museum! There are many exhibits that allow visitors to see what life was like in olden times. Some of these exhibits include a room from an old Victorian Era house, some antique furniture, and even a reproduction of a kitchen from the 1950s. There’s also an IMAX theater, if you want to catch a movie at this museum!

USS Lexington Museum on the Bay

In Corpus Christi, there are many different museums to visit- from science museums to history museums to art museums. One of the best places for kids and families is at the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay! There’s a huge aircraft carrier here, so visitors can explore every area of the ship. They can even go inside and see where pilots got ready before taking off from this massive ship!
