The South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center is a great place to learn about the area’s birds and other wildlife. Guided Birding Tours
The South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center provides guided tours. On our boardwalk through stunning tidal marshes along the Laguna Madre, as well as a freshwater haven with our Naturalists Educators as your guide, you may observe the gorgeous bird life of South Padre Island.
The tours are restricted to 10 people through registration. Binoculars that have been sanitized are available for your protection during the trip. Students above the age of 13, adults, and seniors are only allowed on birding trips at this moment.
Virtual Field Trips
The South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center also offers virtual field trips for students. These trips allow students to explore the nature center’s exhibits and nature trail from the comfort of their classroom. The virtual field trips are interactive, educational, and engaging, and allow students to learn about the local wildlife and environment.
The Alligator Sanctuary at the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center is a great place to learn about the area’s alligators. The sanctuary features exhibits on alligator ecology and biology, as well as live alligators that visitors can watch. Visitors can also participate in alligator feeding demonstrations.

The nature center is open every day from 8am to 5pm and admission are as follows: Adults- $10.00, Students, Military & Seniors 65 yrs+ – $8.00 and for Children 4-12 yrs- $5.00.
